Plans for Carterton Leisure Centre unveiled
We are moving ahead with phase two of the Centre which comes as part of a £9.3m investment programme in leisure facilities over the next 10 years.
Plans include new changing rooms, a four court sports hall and an extreme zone indoor trampoline park.
The centre’s existing eating area and gym will also be upgraded and some of the original building reconfigured to create new fitness and spinning studios and squash courts.
A car park extension for up to 54 new spaces is also proposed.
The new facilities will be funded by West Oxfordshire District Council and managed by GLL, the Council’s leisure management contractor.
Councillor Jeanette Baker, Cabinet Member for Health and Leisure, said: “Residents have been waiting for this extension for a long time and these plans are really exciting.
“It will be hugely beneficial for the health and wellbeing of the town and I encourage everyone to come and have a look.”
Paul Shearman, Partnership Manager for GLL, added: “GLL are proud to be partnering West Oxfordshire District Council in these proposals to improve leisure facilities and get more people more active.”
