Bulky household waste

We will collect bulky items of domestic household waste for a small charge, see below. This service is for household waste only and no DIY, commercial or industrial waste will be collected.

  • Six items maximum per collection. (If you have more, you'll need to be book another collection).

Bulky waste charges

Standard items

Standard bulky waste collections cost £27.00 for one to 4 items and £5.70 for each additional item after 4 items

Non-standard items

Non-standard bulky waste collections cost £27.00 per item. Many of these items can be disposed of at the House waste and recycling centres (tip) at a lower charge.

Items accepted (all items are singular unless stated otherwise):
Bath (cast iron or plastic)
Doors (single)
Extractor hood
Fence panels (up to 4 units)
Fitted furniture
Garage door
Hot water cylinders and cold water tanks
Kitchen units (up to 4 units)
Plastic cladding/guttering
Shed (dismantled, nails must be flattened or removed)
Storage heaters
Taps and pipes
Vanity units
Worktops (up to 4 units)

Items for collection must be placed close together at the edge of your property’s boundary so they are easily accessible for our crews. They should be not be left in a way that causes obstruction or danger to the public. We will not collect from inside houses or outbuildings or from up or down stairs.

Items must be left out by 6am on the day of collection.

All items must match the description given at the time of booking. Once booked, no changes can be made and no refunds will be given. If items left out are taken by third parties before the collection date, no monies can be refunded.

If you have an unwanted item you would like to give a new home please speak to the staff at Dix Pit. The items will be sent to an auction house, the income generated will go back into the running costs for Dix Pit.
