Jumping for joy in Carterton

Fun-loving locals are in for a festive treat this month, with the opening of a brand new Trampoline Park and Soft Play at Carterton Leisure Centre on 21st December 2019.

Visitors to the new trampoline park will be able to jump off an airbag dive tower onto a soft surface below, test their balance on a foam pit battle beam and take part in a series of interactive games where challengers have to touch flashing lights in sequence, as they bounce on a trampoline.

The soft play area is designed for under 12-years-olds and includes a four-lane slide, an apple orchard ball pit, a rope bridge and a glow room. There is a dedicated space for babies and toddlers, disabled access and the opportunity to hire both the trampoline park and the soft play for private functions – ideal for children’s birthday parties.

The soft play has a total capacity of 125, while the trampoline park will hold up to 60 visitors at any one time. To accommodate the new facilities the leisure centre has also extended its car park, increasing capacity to ensure parking is easy for everyone.

The new attractions are part of a massive £8.4 million investment into the leisure centre, which sees the introduction of a four court Sports Hall, five party rooms, a new Café, new dance and spin studios, an extended gym and refurbished changing rooms.

Paul Shearman, Partnership Manager at GLL the charitable social enterprise that operates Carterton Leisure Centre on behalf of West Oxfordshire Council said: “We’re thrilled to be opening these new facilities as the latest phase of redevelopment at Carterton Leisure Centre. We’re hoping that it’ll become a real destination for the region, attracting visitors from across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.”

Cllr Michele Mead, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Health at West Oxfordshire District Council added: “Everyone I speak to is really excited about the trampoline park and the new facilities. It is a fantastic addition to the leisure centre and I am sure it will be really popular.”

Carterton Leisure Centre’s new trampoline park and soft play will open to the general public on 21st December. Weekday opening hours are from 4pm to 8pm and weekend opening hours are from 10am to 6pm. Prices start at £2 for soft play and £5 for trampolining.
