Getting rid of large items

If you have a large item which you are unable to take to a recycling centre you can book a bulky waste collection.

Bulky waste collections can be booked up to three weeks in advance. If no dates are available, the service is fully booked, please try again in a few days for the next set of available slots to be released. 

Charges for bulky waste collection

The cost is £41.00 for up to four items. Please see details below of what we can and can't collect.

Please note: Your items will all be collected on the same day, but some may be collected at different times, by a different crew, depending on how recyclable your items are.

Collections are from 6am and you will need to leave the items where they can be easily accessed, for example, where you normally leave your bins. We cannot help with moving them from your house.

We are unable to collect business waste or do house clearances. For business waste please click here.

The standard items we are able to collect are:

• Animal Accessories (beds, climbing frames, etc.)
• Animal Enclosure (dog kennel, fish tank, vivarium, pet cage)
• Baby Equipment / Furniture (including changing tables)

• Basket (laundry, linen, storage)
• Bed Frame (including cots, divans, sofa beds, headboards, and bunk beds (dismantled))
• Bedside Cabinet
• Bicycle
• Blanket Box / Storage Box / Ottoman
• Cabinet (including display cabinets)
• Chair (including stools, office chairs, armchairs, and highchairs)
• Chest of Drawers
• Coat Stand / Hanging Rail
• Compost Bin
• Computer / Monitor Screen
• Cot and Cot Mattress (as one item)
• Desk
• Dishwasher
• Dressing Table
• Exercise Equipment (including treadmills)
• Filing Cabinet

Non-standard bulky waste collections cost £41.00 per item. Many of these items can be disposed of at the Household waste and recycling centres at a lower charge. We can arrange collection of:

• Bath, cast iron or plastic

• Boiler

• Carpet

• Doors, single

• Extractor hood

• Fence panels up to four units, nails must be flattened or removed, where nails are removed slats should be bundled

• Fitted furniture

• Garage door

• Hot water cylinders and cold water tanks

• Kitchen units, up to four units

• Plastic cladding or guttering

• Radiators

• Shed, dismantled (panels), nails must be flattened or removed, where nails are removed slats should be bundled

• Sink

• Storage heaters

• Taps and pipes

• Toilet

• Vanity units

• Worktops, up to four units

All items must be presented together outside for collection by 6am on the agreed day of collection.

All items must be:

• accessible at the kerbside, if this is not possible or your property is accessed by a private road contact us before booking.
• easily accessible for the Recycling Operatives
• presented in a safe fashion which does not cause any obstruction or danger to the public
• emptied before collection

This service is for household items from residential premises only and no DIY, commercial or industrial waste will be collected.

All items must match the description given at the time of booking the bulky item collection.

Once booked, no amendments can be made to the booking and no refunds are given. If items are left out for collection and are taken before the collection date, no monies can be refunded.

We reserve the right to cancel or amend the booking.
