Charter Markets in Witney & Chipping Norton

Welcome to the home of West Oxfordshire’s historic Charter Markets! Held weekly in the heart of Witney and Chipping Norton, these vibrant markets are a cornerstone of local life—offering fresh produce, artisan goods, street food, crafts, and more.

Whether you're a regular visitor, a first-time shopper, or a budding trader, our markets are open, welcoming, and full of opportunity.

FUN FACTS: Witney's market dates back to the Middle Ages and has been an important part of the town's identity for centuries, whilst a Royal Charter granted by King John in 1205 formalised Chipping Norton's market status, solidifying its importance as a commercial centre in the Cotswolds.
