District Council Election - Chipping Norton Ward
Following the resignation of District Councillor Rizvana Poole, two electors from the district came forward to request that the vacancy was filled by holding an election.
An election was held on Thursday 14 November 2024 between the hours of 7am to 10pm, located at the Lower Hall, of Chipping Norton Town Hall for all local Government voters on the FT-Register of Electors. The Counting of the votes took place at the Returning Officer address at the Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, on Friday 15 November 2024.
Witney Town Council Election - Witney Central Town Ward
Following a Town Councillor vacancy for the Witney Town Council, Witney Central Town Ward, a town poll was requested to fill the vacancy by election.
An election was held on Thursday 14 November 2024 between the hours of 7am to 10pm, located at Ceewood Hall for all local Government voters on the JD-Witney Central No.1 register of electors; and The Methodist Church, Davenport Road for JD2-Witney Central No. 2 register of electors. The Counting of the votes took place at the Returning Officer address at the Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, on Friday 15 November 2024.
Poll Cards were issued to registered local government electors for both Chipping Norton and Witney Town Council – Witney Central ward.
- The Deadline to register to vote for these elections must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer before 12 midnight Tuesday 29 October. Applications can be made online at gov.uk/register-to-vote;
- Applications, amendments and cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, WODC Council Offices, Woodgreen OX28 1NB by 5pm Wednesday 30 October. Applications can be made online at gov.uk/apply-postal-vote;
- Applications to vote by proxy at these elections must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, WODC Council Offices, Woodgreen OX28 1NB by 5pm Wednesday 6 November. Applications can be made online at gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote;
- Applications for a free Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024. Applications can be made online at gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.
