Unsure of how to dispose of your old and unwanted items? Oxfordshire's Waste Wizard can help! Enter your postcode, look up your item and find out if it can be recycled, if others could use it, or find your nearest repair café to give items a new lease of life.
Send unwanted items to be reused
These charities will take donations of furniture to reuse:
- The Sobell House Hospice charity will collect furniture and soft furnishings for reuse. They also have local shops which accept smaller donations
- Emmaus collect furniture from anywhere in Oxfordshire for sale in their shop
- Bicester Green Sustainability Centre will accept donations of furniture, bicycles and small electrical items for reuse and repair

Real nappies
Disposable nappies account for around 10% of waste. Reusable nappies are environmentally friendly and can save you money. Recycle for Oxfordshire has information on the different real nappy schemes available.
Junk mail and telephone directories
You can reduce the junk mail you receive by registering with the Mailing Preference Service. They will arrange for your details to be taken off the mailing lists of companies sending unsolicited mail. You can call them on 0207 291 3310 or email mps@dma.org.uk
