Street trading and markets
Streets fall into the following designations for street trading:
- 'Consent' street trading may take place but a license is required
- 'Prohibited' all street trading is prohibited
- 'Not designated' street trading may take place, no specific license is required but all other regulations (such as food hygiene) must be complied with

Markets
Markets take place in:
- Chipping Norton on Wednesdays
- Witney on Thursdays and Saturdays
- Carterton on Thursdays
- Burford Monday-Friday

Burford | Burford has its own covered market space at The Tolsey in the High Street, available from Monday to Friday year round. Burford Town Council are eager to support local craftspeople and local providers of produce and decorative craft. For more information go to: https://burford-tc.gov.uk/ |
To book a pitch at Chipping Norton or Witney market fill in the general enquiry form. Upon receipt of a full and valid application your paperwork will be processed and you will be contacted within 21 days to inform you of your start date for the market.
Farmers' markets
Farmers' markets run from 8.30am to 1.30pm:
- Charlbury is quarterly, second Saturday in the month (March, June, September, December)
- Chipping Norton is the third Saturday of every month
- Witney is the fourth Friday of every month
- Woodstock is the first Saturday of every month
Farmers' markets in West Oxfordshire are run by the Thames Valley Farmers' Market Co-operative.
The fee for the farmers' market per site is £349.
