Driver Licence Renewals

You will need to renew your licence every 3 years.

What you will need

Safeguarding training course

All existing licence holders must attend safeguarding refresher training every 3 years. Failure to undertake the training within the specified timescales will lead to the suspension of your licence until such time as the training has been completed and a certificate has been provided to the Licensing Team.

Details of course dates and providers can be found on our step by step guide under the ‘Book a Safeguarding Training Course’ heading.

Costs

Apply

If your licence has expired, you’ll need to apply for a new licence at the full cost.

You can renew your licence at a reduced fee if you return the application form at least 7 days before your licence expires.

It is your responsibility to check the expiry date of your licence. We will not send you a reminder or any other documents. Please refer to our step by step guide to ensure you still meet the relevant criteria to hold a valid licence, e.g. medical assessment.
