Salt Cross area action plan examination

The Area Action Plan (AAP) has been formally submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination. The appointed Inspector is Mr Darren McCreery MA BA (Hons) MRTPI with Mr David Spencer BA (Hons) MRTPI appointed as joint Inspector with effect from 2 February 2022.

As part of the examination process, a number of hearing sessions were held over a two-week period from 28 June – 8 July 2021. The hearings took place virtually and were streamed live via the District Council’s Facebook page. The recordings of each session can be viewed here.

To assist the examination, the Inspector issued a number of documents in advance of the hearings. These are available to download below (INSP 1 – INSP 14).

INSP 16 is a note from the Inspectors inviting those who made representations on the AAP at the formal Regulation 19 stage to comment on additional work relating to infrastructure delivery and viability and also the actions that arose from the hearing sessions in June/July.

Comments were invited by close on 6 April 2022 and a schedule of the responses received is available to download below.

Further to this, on 26 May 2022, the Inspectors wrote to the Council to confirm that the AAP is able to progress to the next stage of the examination known as ‘Main Modifications’ (see INSP17 and INSP18 below).

Consultation on those proposed Main Modifications took place over a 6-week period from Friday 23 September to Friday 4 November 2022.
