Code of conduct for councillors
Code of conduct for councillors
All Councils are required to have a code of conduct for members and co-opted members. Our current code has been in place since 18 May 2022. Most of the 54 town and parish councils in West Oxfordshire follow the same code.
Complaints about councillors
We deal with all complaints concerning councillors, co-opted members, or members of a town or parish council in West Oxfordshire not following the code of conduct.
Or call 01993 861614 or print and complete the complaint form and post it to: The Monitoring Officer, West Oxfordshire District Council, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxon, OX28 1NB.
This relates only to complaints that the code of conduct has not been followed. General complaints about a council should be made to the council concerned.

Register of interests
One of the requirements in the codes both for the district council and all town and parish councils is for councillors to register specified 'interests'. The registers may be inspected at the Council Offices at Woodgreen, Witney during normal office hours. A copy of the register for a particular town or parish council may alternatively be inspected by arrangement with the clerk to that council. Please see the Town and Parish Council page for contact information.
